Some scientists repeated variations of the original Milgram experiment, which tests how far people are willing to go hurting others at the request of an authority. Unsurprisingly, human nature hasn’t changed: most people will submit to authority with little moral regard for the victim’s suffering.

New dating of a Middle Stone Age site in Ethiopia suggests that early hominids may have used more advanced tools than previously believed. Maybe the cognitive jump from ancestral forms to Homo Sapiens wasn’t that abrupt after all. (via.)
